Rogue is a comic book character in the Marvel Comics universe. Her original power was her ability to steal the minds and abilities of those she touches with her bare skin; this leaves her with enhanced abilities, and the person being touched in a coma. Unfortunately, she's unable to control this ability, so anyone she touches gets their mind & abilities stolen.

How long she retains the abilities (and the victim remains comatose) varies with the duration of the touch; it can be minutes or permanent.

By touching Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers) for too long, Rogue permanently stole her abilities; flight, invulnerability, and superhuman strength.

In order to "control" her abilities, Rogue keeps as much of her skin area covered.

Rogue has been a villain and a superhero. Her biggest claim to fame is her stint with The X-Men.
