RAMAPURAM = Ramapuram is a tiny village in Kanyakumari District of Tamil Nadu. When you travel from Trinelveli to Nagarcoil, 10 Kms before Nagarcoil you fine Vellamadam. From Vellamadam turn east and follow Nanjil Nattu Putthan Aaru channel. Three km travel by the side of the river will bring you to Ramapuram.

This village is as old as its church, nearly 150 years old. Almost all the residents of this village are from same community, Nanjil Nattu Vellala Pillai. Though they all were orthodox high caste Hindus, families of Ramapuram were converted to Roman Catholic some 150 years ago. People still follow the culture and traditions of their Hindu counterparts.

Near Ramapuram there is a bigger village called Andarkulam. Here people of hardworking Nadar Community are living. Followers of CSI, LMS and Hinduism are there.
