Personal life

Niemi was born in Houston, Texas to Finnish-Americans Edmond Melvin Haapaniemi (October 1914 - February 1984)[1] and Edna Karin Hyttinen. In 1971, Niemi began attending a Houston area ballet school. She met the owners son, Patrick Swayze. The two married in 1975. [2] [3]
