Travelex plc is a foreign exchange company, with its company headquarters located in Kingsway, London, England, with a number of offices in other UK and worldwide locations.

About

Travelex is a foreign exchange specialist, known for online travel money ordering and foreign exchange outlets in airports and seaports internationally. Travelex is a supplier of foreign currency, prepaid currency cards, international payments, travel assistance services and bulk shipments of currency banknotes the world over.

Its principal activities are organized into three divisions: Global Business Payments, Retail and Outsourcing.

Global Business Payments: Travelex Global Business Payments is an international non-bank provider of commercial cross-border payment services. The business provides international payment services for commercial and personal customers, with products comprising multi-currency spot contracts, forward contracts and options. The Global Business Payments division was created by merging Ruesch International, which was acquired in 2007, with Travelex’s Commercial Foreign Exchange division.

Retail: Travelex Retail serves customers in over 700 branded retail branches, principally in airports and tourist locations as well as online ordering of travel money on their international websites e.g. in the UK. The business sells banknotes, travellers cheques, prepaid currency cards and other travel money services to individuals travelling for business and leisure purposes.

Outsourcing: The business provides outsourced travel money services by supplying the foreign currency needs of financial institutions and travel agencies, as well as by fulfilling the individual orders of their customers. Products and services include foreign currency, wholesale banknote fulfillment, dynamic currency conversion, and the issuing of Cash Passport, their prepaid currency card. Travelex operates through its subsidiaries and branches in four regions: the United Kingdom; Europe, Middle East, India and Africa (EMEA); Americas and Asia Pacific.

Services

Travelex's key businesses is the supply of travel money services to banks, travel agents and other institutions for their traveling customers. These services range from a remote ordering and delivery service, to supplying stocks, pre-packs of travel money and even the provision of Bureau de Change implants.

Travelex supplies Cash Passport, a pre-paid currency card that can be used in the same manner and locations as a Visa credit card with the differences being that the card is preloaded with currency of the applicant's choice and that then becomes the limit for usage. These are popular for international leisure and business travellers, students, or for use as reward programmes.
