Madhira is a one of the major grama Panchayathi's in Khammam district of Andhra Pradesh, India, formerly part of the Kakatiya dynasty. Well connected by train and bus services.
Madhira is surrounded by Khammam and krishna district vilagges. Madhira is located in between Khammam and Vijayawada. This is first major town comes after vijayawada while entering telangana. At Nijam's ruling time people entering dynesty used to exchange currency and coins here.

The inscription read as follows: "Success! Obeisance Dhamma and God during the 10th rignal year of Siri Yahuvala Chantamula - Ayadevabasaka the resident of Madhadhakadapara along with his wife Ijetika, sons Dapa, Theraka, Thamula, Chauka and daughters Modi, Chula Modi, Gharasudu, Hamavadi, Bhutati, Kati erected a chaitya (stupa) at Dedagiri (now known as Gummadidurru)".
