Jand is a town of Attock District in the Punjab province of Pakistan. The town is the headquarters of Jand Tehsil, an administrative subdivision, of the district.[1] It lies to the south of the district capital Attock.[2]
Jand, in Pakistan's earliest history known as Jhund (lots of trees). Jand has very critical position in Punjab province, as it is the last boundary, which connect Punjab province to NWFP at Indus River. (Khushal Garh). It has a population of about 50,000. There is one Degree College for boys and one for girls. One Tehsil Headquarter Hospital but without Basic Medical facilities.
Most people are running their own small businesses like shops etc and many work in Pakistan Army.
