Deccan Aviation Lanka is a six year old helicopter and charter aircraft operator based in Colombo, Sri Lanka. They are the only company authorized to operate both helicopters and fixed wing aircraft in the country.
History
Deccan Aviation Lanka was incorporated in July, 2004, as Sri Lanka’s premier private helicopter operator. The partnership between Deccan Charters, India and the Favourite Group of Sri Lanka gave birth to a new era in private aviation. By early 2007, the company’s success in the rotor-wing division led to the launch of its fixed wing charter operations with the introduction of a fleet of Hawker Beechcraft 1900 aircraft. The partnership with JS Group, Pakistan positioned Deccan Aviation Lanka as the only company to operate both helicopter & fixed wing aircraft in Sri Lanka. In January 2008 Deccan Aviation Lanka launched its airborne medical evacuation service.
