Newton Lee is the CEO of Newton Lee Laboratories, LLC[1], a think tank, consultancy, and intellectual property holding company. He is also the founding president of the 501(c)(3) nonprofit Institute for Education, Research, and Scholarships (IFERS)[2][3] dedicated to improving society by providing resources to high achieving students, scientific researchers, nonprofits, and educational organizations.

He is the founder and co-editor-in-chief of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) [4][5] website and magazine - a nonprofit educational publication to promote research and development in all aspects of entertainment technology. Published by the Association for Computing Machinery, the online magazine has garnered the support of more than 100 leading professionals and scholars representing major universities, Hollywood studios, and Fortune 500 companies. Many of whom have won the Academy Awards, Emmys, and Grammys.[6][7][8][9][10][11]

Previously, Lee was the founding director of the NUS Hollywood Lab[12], a computer science researcher at AT&T Bell Laboratories[13], a senior producer/engineer at The Walt Disney Company[14], and a research staff member at the Institute for Defense Analyses.

Currently, Lee serves on various advisory boards at The Art Institute of California - Los Angeles, Digital Hollywood[15], UCLA, USC[16], Virginia Tech[17], and other educational organizations worldwide[18][19][20]. He has been honored with a Leading Edge Technology Award from Michigan, two community development awards from the California Junior Chamber of Commerce, and four volunteer project leadership awards from The Walt Disney Company.

Lee holds a B.S. and M.S. in computer science from Virginia Tech, an electrical engineering degree and honorary doctorate from Vincennes University.
