Goals

- To defend the projects essential for its balanced, sustainable development with a single voice
- To improve its international competitiveness by placing people at the core of its actions
- To become a pole of innovation and growth through the ties woven among its technology, science and culture centres
Positioning itself as a European and Mediterranean setting
- To contribute to the future of Europe’s cohesion policy
- To improve the accessibility of the territories by deploying a network of transports and the Mediterranean corridor
- To become an agent of Euro-Mediterranean cooperation by strengthening the ties with the Union for the Mediterranean
The Euroregion projects
To deepen cultural cooperation through a shared annual meeting and Internet portal [1]
- To consolidate a Eurocampus that encompasses the higher education centres in order to improve their competitiveness and foster the mobility of students, educators and researchers [2]
- To bring together business creation initiatives (CREAMED) [3]
How it works
Since August 2009, the founding of the Pyrenees Mediterranean EGTC, a new legal instrument with its own personality, has been helping the Euroregion to achieve its goals, particularly cross-border, trans-national and inter-regional cooperation and economic, social and territorial cohesion. How it works • A rotating presidency identical to the presidency of the Euroregion • A general assembly • A technical team Three offices • Toulouse: Direction • Barcelona: General Secretariat • Brussels: Permanent representation
