Alfred Rolfe, real name Alfred Rokker (1862– 9 September 1943), was an Australian film director and actor. He started as an actor, appearing in the company of Alfred Dampier when he married Dampier's daughter Lily. After Dampier's death, he and Lily toured with Philip Lytton's company.
In 1910 Rolfe received an offer to direct three films for Charles Cozens Spencer, all adaptations of productions performed by his father-in-law's company. After this, he went to work for Stanley Crick at the Australian Photo-Play Company, for whom he made an estimated 25 features. [1]
From 1915 to 1916 he worked for Australasian Films, directing shorts, industrial films and features. He eventually retired from show business and became involved in amateur athletics.[2]
