Marc Edwards Slipstream Time Travel is an afrofuturistic free jazz ensemble led by jazz drummer Marc Edwards. The group normally consists of Edwards on drums, Gene Janas on bass, and at least three electric guitarists.
History
In 1994. Edwards returned to music after a lengthy hiatus. He formed Slipstream Time Travel and released their first record, Time and Space Vol. 1. Since then, they had had a number of releases. John Sharpe of allaboutjazz compares the recording to Sun Ra, pointing out not only science-fictional but also astronomy themes.
Current members are Ernest Anderson III, Takuma Kanaiwa, Alex Lozupone, Gene Janas, Alex Marcelo[2].
