While an Executive Producer at Thirteen/WNET in New York, Einreinhofer was responsible for the PBS non-fiction mini-series and specials "The Future Is Now"8, "The Stuff of Dreams"9 and "Earth Tech ’92."10 An international co-production, Earth Tech ’92 was hosted by NPR Correspondent Scott Simon from the 1992 United Nations “Earth Summit” in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Later he produced, directed and wrote "Spacewalkers: The Ultimate High-Wire Act" for Discovery.11

He produced an extensive body of work in and about China. The first was the provocative Public TV documentary "China Now: To Get Rich Is Glorious."12 Later he produced "The Hidden China," which followed a group of wealthy Americans visiting China in search of investment opportunities.13 In "Sichuan Stories" he documented work being done in rural western China by internationally known NGO Save The Children.14 Partnering with China Television Ventures (CTV) and China Media International (CMI), he helped facilitate interviews with Chinese President Jiang Zemin for "The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer"15 and "60 Minutes."16

"So Very Far From Home" was a 2005 American-Chinese co-production. It told the stories of five American children, each of whom was stranded in Japanese-occupied China during World War II.17 Sent to brutal prison camps, their experiences helped form the basis for Steven Spielberg’s epic film "Empire of the Sun."18

His best-known project was "Beyond Beijing," a four-part documentary series tied to the 2008 Summer Olympics.19 Distributed internationally,20 the series was seen in 42 countries.

In 2012, he was Executive Producer of "Every Day Is A Holiday," a one-hour documentary that followed a young Chinese-American woman as she discovered her father’s hidden, heroic past.21 The program was broadcast nationally on more than 200 PBS television stations.22
