Hi all! I am Sir Mycroft Holmes, brother of consulting detective Sherlock Holmes. I live in London and am quite possibly the most powerful man in Great Britain, the literal power behind the throne. Even Prime Minister "Call me Dave" answers to me and only me! I am proud to be a member of the prestigious Diogenes Club, where strict silence is enforced at all times. I like that. I have always preferred quiet order to loud chaos. I have an IQ of 185 and am fluent in English, French, German, Latin, ancient Greek, Turkish, Arabic, Sanskrit, Hindi, Chinese, and Japanese. Whenever I'm not assigning tasks to Sherlock (like busting terrorist networks or Jim Moriarty) I have a keen interest in the history of my own nation, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and (Northern) Ireland, as well as the history and culture of Japan. Japan has always been my favorite nation other than Britain; I had the pleasure to visit Tokyo in 2005 and visited the Yasukuni Shrine and Sukiyabashi Jiro (I recommend you watch 'Jiro Dreams of Sushi); I'm one of those rare few who thinks that the 1941-1945 war between Britain and Japan could have been perfectly avoidable if we hadn't been lapping at the heels of the Americans and enforced reckless economic embargoes. Well, anyway, what's past is past, and the UK and Japan are best friends now. You might see me, from time to time, editing articles on Japan, Japanese history, and Japanese culture, as having an interest in that plus an IQ of 185 my knowledge of that is much higher than yours. You'll also see me snooping around articles related to BBC's Sherlock; I am very flattered by Mr. Mark Gatiss's portrayal of me! Anyway, I've just got a call that Jim Moriarty is stirring up trouble in some Central Asian country called Nowherestan. Time to send in the Royal Air Force! |
