'Nimrod' was neither Jaeger's pseudonym (in the sense of a pen name) or a sort of nickname. In Elgar's 9th Enigma Var., it is rather a wordplay - Nimrod being a hunter (Gen. 10:9), and 'Jäger' being the German word for 'hunter'.
