Lubabalo Myana (born August 28, 1995)better known by his stage name Blackk Lu is a South African hip hop recording artist, songwriter and a producer from Mdantsane, Eastern Cape. Blackk gained his recognition locally, after releasing his official debut single Oursas a solo artist. The single has been voted many times on local radio stations and on the first airplay it charted no. 2 on Kasi Top 5 on Number Number hip hop show of Ukhozi FMin October, 2014.
Early life & early music career
Lu was born in Cecilia Makhiwane from a retired authopadist and a former nurse father and unemployed mother. Blackk has attended his school life in government schools and matriculated from Nyameko High School [2], 2013.Lu started writing his raps at his eigth grade in 2009, together with his friend PJ Phoenix formed a group.They used J-Squard beats to write their raps and in 2011 a third member joined the duo and formed a crew known as 'Royal Empire Soldiers', shortly R.E.$. Lu bought a condenser microphone and used his father’s laptop to create beats and for recording. Lubabalo is influenced by greatest artists such as 2pac, Immortal Technique, Outkast, Tumi & the Volumes, G- Eazy,DeVIN Miles, AKA etc.
Current Projects
Blackk Lu had only released one single as a solo artist and also produced and is featured on a massive song which is also frequently played entitled 'Out of Nothing' alongside Snarez gRATITUDE,Kayde & Hudson' Oterga by local DJ Cristo'z. He is currently working on a project with various producers.
