Edward C. Allcard (born October 31, 1914[1]) was a British naval architect, marine surveyor, yachtsman and author.[2]

Allcard was educated at Eton College.[2][3] In 1949, he crossed the Atlantic ocean single-handed, in 81 days.[2] In 1951, leaving the Azores, he found a 23-year old female stowaway on his yawl, Temptress.[2]

He appeared as a "castaway" on the BBC Radio programme Desert Island Discs on 26 July 1955.[4]

Allcard later moved to Malta. In October 2014, he celebrated his 100th birthday.[5]
