Lloyd Perrett (born 17 December 1994) is a New Zealand-born Australian professional rugby league footballer who currently plays for the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs in the National Rugby League. He plays at prop.

Background

Born in Hamilton, New Zealand, Perrett is of Māori[1] and Samoan[2] descent and moved to the Gold Coast, Queensland at the age of 4.[3] He played his junior rugby league for the Burleigh Bears, before being signed by the Sydney Roosters.[4]

Perrett is the younger brother of fellow Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs player Sam Perrett.[5]

Playing career

Early career

In June 2012, Perrett joined the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs mid-season effective immediately, following his brother Sam.[6][7] In 2012 and 2013, he played for the Bulldogs' NYC team.[8][9] On 20 April 2013, he played for the Queensland under-20s team against the New South Wales under-20s team.[10][11] On 13 October 2013, he played for the Junior Kangaroos against the Junior Kiwis.[12][13]

2014

In 2014, Perrett graduated onto the Bulldogs' New South Wales Cup team.[14] On 3 May, he again played for the Queensland under-20s team against the New South Wales under-20s team.[15] In Round 15 of the 2014 NRL season, he made his NRL debut for the Bulldogs against the Canberra Raiders, playing off the interchange bench in the Bulldogs' 22-14 win at Canberra Stadium.[16][17][18] In Round 23 against the Parramatta Eels, he suffered a season ending ankle injury in the Bulldogs' 18-16 win at ANZ Stadium.[19] He finished off his debut year in the NRL, having played in 8 matches for the Bulldogs.[20] On 1 December, he re-signed with the Bulldogs on a 4-year contract.[21][22][23]

2015

On 31 January and 1 February, Perrett played for the Bulldogs in the 2015 NRL Auckland Nines.[24] He finished off the 2015 season having played in 14 games for the Bulldogs.[25]
