Revision as of 14:57, 20 August 2006

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. As a member of the Wikipedia community, I would like to remind you of Wikipedia's neutral-point-of-view policy for editors. In the meantime, please be bold and continue contributing to Wikipedia. Thank you! —Khoikhoi 04:01, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Request for comments

Feel welcome to add your statement to Talk:English people#Request for Comment: Peoples related to the English. This is a necessary step in dispute resolution. I would also advise you to create a username. Regards, E Asterion u talking to me? 20:38, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

3rr

Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia under the three-revert rule, which states that nobody may revert a single page more than three times in 24 hours. (Note: this also means editing the page to reinsert an old edit. If the effect of your actions is to revert back, it qualifies as a revert.) Thank you. Calgacus (ΚΑΛΓΑΚΟΣ) 01:17, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

3 Revert Rule

Not sure which article Calgacus was warning you about so this is specifically regarding your edits to Scottish people:

Stop icon

Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.--WilliamThweatt 02:15, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You are correct, except that neither Calgacus nor I have violated the 3RR rule, you have.--WilliamThweatt 02:22, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
