Copyright violations – final warning
Hello Earl King. I responded to a request to RevDelete edits made by you to Bitcoin earlier today. I try to be careful in checking that requests are correct, so I investigated the claimed sources of copying and compared them to your edits. They appear indisputable – direct copying and pasting of swaths of content (some with only minor surface modification, which is not sufficient to avoid copyright infringement). I then came here to make sure you had been warned (and to look into other copying, which I still intend to do). We are very forgiving of good faith mistakes and many people come to Wikipedia having no understanding of copyright protection at all, so we don't block accounts until we know they have been informed and yet continue to infringe copyright.<p>At that point I found that you had been previously warned by Drchriswilliams, here, and that that tailored warning – providing a clear map of your edits and the sources where the content came from – followed an earlier warning. Instead of responding to the issue, you waved this off, claiming this was part of "aiding a wikistalker". When presented with direct and transparent evidence of copying, anything but explaining [somehow] that it was not, or acknowledging it and declaring you won't do it again, is pretextual. By the way, while you may remove any warning you get at your talk page (such as this one), which is taken as an proof of having read it, you may not ban another editor from leaving valid warnings, as you purported to do here (in a nasty manner).<p>I then found that under your prior account (in addition to a checkered history, e.g. all the ANI reports) you had been previously warned multiple times about copyright violations, such as by Georgewilliamherbert, here; The Devil's Advocate, here and here; and Dougweller, here<p>Accordingly, as headlined, this is a final warning. We are very forgiving of good faith mistakes and many people come to Wikipedia having no understanding of copyright protection at all, so we don't block accounts until we know they have been informed and yet continue to infringe copyright.

At that point I found that you had been previously warned by Drchriswilliams, here, and that that tailored warning – providing a clear map of your edits and the sources where the content came from – followed an earlier warning. Instead of responding to the issue, you waved this off, claiming this was part of "aiding a wikistalker". When presented with direct and transparent evidence of copying, anything but explaining [somehow] that it was not, or acknowledging it and declaring you won't do it again, is pretextual. By the way, while you may remove any warning you get at your talk page (such as this one), which is taken as an proof of having read it, you may not ban another editor from leaving valid warnings, as you purported to do here (in a nasty manner).

I then found that under your prior account (in addition to a checkered history, e.g. all the ANI reports) you had been previously warned multiple times about copyright violations, such as by Georgewilliamherbert, here; The Devil's Advocate, here and here; and Dougweller, here

Accordingly, as headlined, this is a final warning. Any further copyright violations will subject you to an immediate and indefinite block from further editing.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 18:50, 15 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
