The geometric moray, Gymnothorax griseus, is a moray eel of the family Muraenidae, found throughout the western Indian Ocean, including the Red Sea, at depths down to 40 m. Its length is up to 65 cm.
The geometric moray is found in shallow coastal waters, on coral and rocky reefs.
Coloration is a brownish head with conspicuous lines of black dots, and a lilac body with brown marbling.
