This user, because of alleged "behavioural problems", remains banned indefinitely from editing or commenting on the World War II and Aftermath of World War II articles. This ban was the outcome of a protracted Arbitration case brought by me (the erstwhile Communicat) last year against certain editors, in which I alleged deliberate systemic bias / NPOV violations on their part relative to certain modern military history articles.

Arbcom, to my great astonishment, stated subsequently it did not have the necessary expertise nor was it the appropriate forum for any decision regarding my allegations of systemically-biased POV content issues. Instead, Arbcom deemed me guilty of incivility and I was placed on an indefinite topic ban.

It is true that WP:CENSOR does not generally or necessarily invalidate WP:BAN, but IMO WP:CENSOR did invalidate WP:BAN and continues to do so in the particular instance of the former Communicat. Still, I can't be bothered to appeal against the Arbcom decision. There are lots of other articles that I can busy myself with, and in fact I had already withdrawn voluntarily from editing the World War II and Aftermath of World War II articles well before Arbcom belatedly topic-banned me. Indeed, I had even withdrawn from the Arbcom proceedings and from wikipedia entirely by the time Arbcom topic-banned me in abstentia.

In "real" life, I'm a retired former investigative journalist / author / editor / media researcher / documentary film maker, with more than half a century of practical experience, and now well-advanced in years. I'm also the author / copyright holder of the website truth-hertz.net where my real life identity can easily be established. A wikipedia Conflict of Interest referral last year failed to establish any conflict of interest on my part. For some time, because of death threats and other minor inconveniences in my country of residence, which is somewhere in southern Africa, it was advisable for me to conceal my real-life contributor identity when signing wikipedia edits and comments. Those particular circumstances have since changed for the better; and in any event, I've already been "outed" during the course of my past contributions to wikipedia. Still, it remains my prerogative to sign my wikipedia edits with the username Communikat, which makes no effort to conceal the fact that I'm the former Communicat.
So there you have it. New era, new unsername; and no grounds for anyone claiming sockpuppetry on my part. Wish me well. Communikat (talk) 16:36, 14 June 2011 (UTC)

So there you have it. New era, new unsername; and no legitimate grounds for anyone claiming sockpuppetry or conflict of interest on my part. Wish me well. Or not. Whatever does it for you. I remain a firm supporter of freedom of expression, and I've always opposed censorship.

To avoid any confusing allegations of sockpuppetry, interested parties may note new user Communikat is the erstwhile Communicat (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log), who stopped editing six months ago because of acrimonious and disruptive editorial disputes, and I took a refreshing sabbatical instead.

Because of alleged "behavioural problems", I remain banned indefinitely from editing or commenting on certain military history articles, which I can't identify here because I'm prohibited from doing so. This ban was the outcome of a protracted Arbitration case brought by me last year against certain editors, in which I alleged deliberate systemic bias and gross NPOV violations on their part relative to certain modern military history articles.

Arbcom, to my great astonishment, stated subsequently it did not have the necessary expertise nor was it the appropriate forum for any decision regarding allegations of systemically-biased POV content issues. Instead, Arbcom deemed me guilty of incivility and I was placed on an indefinite topic ban.

It is true that WP:CENSOR does not generally or necessarily invalidate WP:BAN, but IMO WP:CENSOR did invalidate WP:BAN and continues to do so in the particular instance of the former Communicat (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log). Still, I couldn't be bothered to appeal against the Arbcom decision.

New era, new unsername; and no legitimate grounds for anyone claiming sockpuppetry or conflict of interest on my part. Wish me well. Or not. Whatever does it for you. I remain a firm supporter of freedom of expression, and I've always opposed censorship.
