Unveiling ceremony of the monument was held on May 30, 2011. Norbert Kopp, mayor of Steglitz-Zehlendorf borough, Adalet Valiyev, deputy minister of culture and tourism of Azerbaijan, representatives of Azerbaijani diaspora, German community and eminent science and culture figures of Azerbaijan and Germany participated in the ceremony.
