In 2004 Des Hasler was appointed head coach of the [[Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles]]. Playing career

Des Hasler was a Rugby League player during the 1980's and early 1990's. He began his first grade career with the Penrith Panthers in 1984 but quicky transferred to the Manly Sea Eagles which he played a total of 234 games for and scored 72 tries. During the next decade Hasler established himself as a star utility player, playing for Australia in twelve test matches. At the end of the 1993 season Hasler decided to play for Hull FC in the Super League. Hasler returned however for one last stint with Manly in the 1995 and 1996 season in both of these years manly made the grand final and won it in 1996.
