Claes-Göran Cederlund was a Swedish physician and birdwatcher born in 1948.[1] After decades of dedicated birdwatching, in March 2019 he broke the world record of bird species seen or heard in the wild. His record reached 9761 species,[2][3] meaning that Cederlund had "ticked" more avian species than anyone ever.

During his birdwatching pursuits he has visited over 120 countries as well as Antarctica.

He died on November 15th 2020 at the age of 72.[4]
