[https://ur.booksc.eu/book/20956553/ee5e97] via this link I was able to get the pertinent content from the study in a readable size. On page 263, or page 9 of the PDF, they compare the brain size to other fish and state that it 'may' be smaller than lampreys but it looks like they did form a conclusion on that specific point as they do not directly claim that is smaller than lampreys.
