Thie village was not captured by Armenian forces in 1991, it was Armenian-populated and was included to Republic of Artsakh since its independence referendum. This mistake repeated in all articles on Nagorno-Karabakh settlements.

Çağadüz (Chaghaduz) or Sargsashen (Armenian: Սարգսաշեն) is a village in the Khojavend District of Azerbaijan, in the disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh. The village had an ethnic Armenian-majority population prior to the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh war, and also had an Armenian majority in 1989.[3]

History

During the Soviet period, the village was a part of the Martuni District of the Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Oblast.

The village was included to Martuni Province of the self-proclaimed Republic of Artsakh since 2 September 1991 its referendum and declaration of independence and remained under the administration of Republic of Artsakh up to November 5, 2020. The village was captured by Azerbaijan during the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh war.
