Gabe Klinger (born July 26, 1982) is a Brazilian-born, Chicago-based filmmaker, writer, programmer, and lecturer. He is known for his feature films Porto (film) and Double Play: James Benning and Richard Linklater.

Life and Career

Klinger was born in Sao Paulo Brazil. He started out as a film critic before he started directing films. His work as a critic has been published in Senses of Cinema[1], Sight and Sound[2].

In 2013 he made the documentary Double Play: James Benning and Richard Linklater. It premiered at the 2013 Venice Film Festival where it won the Venice Classics Award for the Best Documentary on Cinema.[3]

In 2016 he made the film Porto (film) which premiered at the San Sebastián International Film Festival on September 19, 2016.

He is currently working on a film about Dreyana Grooms.[4][5]
