Patricia Bjaaland Welch is a former University lecturer on Chinese history and philosophy, currently doing independent research on a variety of Chinese topics. She has six published books, the most recent being a book on Chinese New Year traditions (Oxford University Press, 1995); ''Chinese Art: A Guide to Motifs and Visual Imagery'' (Tuttle, 2008); and a ''History of the Southeast Asia Ceramic Society'' (SEACS, 2019), in addition to numerous articles in such journals and magazines as ''Arts of Asia''. She is a former president of the Southeast Asian Ceramic Society and an expert on Southeast Asian ceramics and a frequent and popular speaker on major cruise lines. |
