This morning I left a message on the talk page of Ajf773, concerning the fact that he/she had deleted an input I had made on the article "Cat café" yesterday. In this message, I had asked about his/her using (among others) the word "promotional" when deleting and explained why I felt that this was not justified, why I had not used certain online links (e.g. to articles in the local press) I had found (viz. precisely because I feared that they might be considered promotional). And that I had kept my input so short and barren, in order to look first for additional non-promotional information (online and by going there) and I asked what sort of information would prevent the qualification "non-notable".

I also pointed out that, in the introduction of the article, it is not defined as prerequisite that the cafés should be active in home-finding for cats and that, while this is of course an excellent help for homeless cats, a café can also be helpful to humans feeling lonely or regretting not being able to have a pet of their own. And I (76) explained that what had prompted me when checking for Switzerland in the article, after my granddaughter (21) in the Netherlands had told me about the café she patronizes, and found it missing. My granddaughter and I correspond in English because she doesn't speak German and I don't speak Dutch.

Just now I checked Ajf773's talk page (hoping for an answer). My message of this morning unfortunately has disappeared without a trace... No doubt I made a mistake editing it. Now I am at a loss what to do.

It would seem that I need to write something here, so that other Wikipedians can contact me via this page...

Sorry, I wasn't aware. I have in the past occasionally intervened in other Wikipedia sites (other than the Swiss one) and this problem had so far never cropped up. (And I did make sure some time ago that I do exist as a member on the English wikipedia site, assuming that this was sufficient... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Mpa_swiss)

I need your advice ...

[edit]

This morning I left a message on the talk page of Ajf773, concerning the fact that he/she had deleted an input I had made on the article "Cat café" yesterday. In this message, I had asked about his/her using (among others) the word "promotional" when deleting and explained why I felt that this was not justified, why I had not used certain online links (e.g. to articles in the local press) I had found (viz. precisely because I feared that they might be considered promotional). And that I had kept my input so short and barren, in order to look first for additional non-promotional information (online and by going there) and I asked him/her what sort of information would prevent the qualification "non-notable".

I also pointed out that, in the introduction of the article, it is not defined as prerequisite that the cafés should be active in home-finding for cats and that, while this is of course an excellent help for homeless cats, a café can also be helpful to humans feeling lonely or regretting not being able to have a pet of their own. And I (76) explained that what had prompted me, after my granddaughter (21) in the Netherlands had told me about the Cat café she patronizes, was that when I found the article and read it, I found Switzerland missing and did a bit of research. My granddaughter and I correspond in English because she doesn't speak German and I don't speak Dutch; I didn't use English so as to be intrusive. Adding to the English article was sort of obvious. (It was also the only Cat café article I had found).

Just now I checked Ajf773's talk page (hoping for an answer). My message of this morning unfortunately has disappeared without a trace... No doubt I made a mistake editing it. Now I am at a loss what to do.

Can anyone help, PLEASE ?? Mpa swiss (talk) 12:54, 12 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

P.S.:

Probably I took too long editing my message... and that's why it disappeared.
