The Naked Scientists were also top 5 finalists in the 2006 World Podcast Awards, but the huge bandwidth demands (running at 4 terabytes of data per month) associated with having such a popular programme almost jeopardised the initiative after the team were ejected from three successive webhosts in as many months for "excessive use of resources". Thankfully the scantily-clad scientists were saved when award-winning Manchester based hosting company [http://www.ukfast.net/ UKFast] stepped in mid-2006 with dedicated support and a sponsorship deal. Since then the team have celebrated "going platinum" when their download counter hit 2 million copies in August of the same year.
