Always is a classic ballad written by Irving Berlin. It was written in 1925, supposedly as a wedding gift for his wife Ellin McKay, whom he married in 1926, and to whom he donated the substantial royalties. Adopted as a standard practically since its first release, in 1942 it was used as the theme music for the movie The Pride of the Yankees.
