The Yamaha 660R Raptor is a sport all terrain vehicle made by Yamaha with a 660cc, single cylinder, 5 valve, 4 stroke engine. Designed to perform well in every riding condition. Made from the year 2001 to 2005. Yamaha redesigned the 660r Raptor and released it as a Raptor 700.

Appearance wise the two models look almost identical. The bikes differ in the engines, suspension, and seat height.

The new Raptor 700R has not only a 40cc larger engine but it also has an EFI (Electronic Fule Injection) intake system. This system is computer operated. It can be remaped or recalibrated to produce more power. By using an aftermarket power comader and a computer one can change the different fule and air ratio to create more power in all RPM ranges.

The new Grizzly 700 has the Raptor's engine, as did the 660 model.

The other differences are the air filter, the seat and that the 700's weight is much more spread out. The 660 was known to stand up very easy due to its light front end.

The Yamaha Raptor was the first Yamaha ATV using the patented 5 valve set-up. With 3 intake and 2 exhaust valves, it also is an easily modifiable engine with a very restricted stock factory setting. It also has dual 33mm carbuerators.

In 2000 the Raptor 660R was known as the fastest production ATV out there. [citation needed]
