Partnerships? or Sustainability?

Illinois Green Alliance is a nonprofit organization that is rooted in promoting sustainable practices throughout the state of Illinois. Through programs designed to promote green practices, educate schools on sustainability actions, and provide community organizations support through pro bono and final services, advocating for sustainable operations through their Neighborhood Power Project. [1]

Since partnering with Illinois Green Alliance, Family Matters has proudly started their sustainable journey. Children have begun learning what sustainability means and have incorporated such green practices at home. Before 2020, Family Matters had made energy-saving improvements within its building and since then, has installed solar panels, filtered water dispensers, incorporated composting and recycling habits, and so much more.[1]

Family Matters also partners with other non profit organizations. Environmental Defense Fund is known for its environmental advocacy, emphasizing science, economics, and law to find environmental solutions. Elevate, another partner, works to ensure clean and affordable energy for all, focusing on efficiency and sustainability.[2]

This collaboration showcases how collective action can lead to significant environmental progress in neighborhoods, serving as a model for effective, community-centered sustainability efforts. Because of Family Matters's location, they have demonstrated that it is possible to embody eco-friendly implementations at home.[1] Through such projects, Family Matters highlights the real benefits of working together for a greener future. Family Matters values go beyond youth development, positively impacting the community around them.[2]
