There is something I think I really need to settle here and there. I uploaded the image of one of the victims Neo Koon San, the police officer shot in this incident, as well as the police mugshots of Chang Bock Eng and Tay Cher Kiang, the two gunmen who had been executed in 1980 for the crime under Singapore's Arms Offences Act, but somehow an editor keep removing it and claimed non free content, which I find there was no problem to upload I thought it would be relevant to provide the mugshots of the criminals since it was not prohibited to show the non-free image of deceased persons, and I noted that in many other articles out there, it was acceptable to add the images of the perpetrators, whether murderers or not, and those articles are all about the crime and investigations and not the criminals themselves. As for the victim Neo Koon San, I thought his status as a police officer and the role he played in addressing the shoot-out made him stood out among the victims and providing an image can potentially help in the narration of the article. I need to know what exactly can be done, any solutions here? I do not want to spark a possible edit war without any helpful communication made from both sides or the opinions of other editors who may or may not agree with me on this, and how do I rectify to allow the images stay on the article. • All three images are being used improperly. The rationale given for all three images on their non-free use template is "For visual identification of the object of the article. The article as a whole is dedicated specifically to a discussion of this work." These images are not a photo of the shooting, and these individuals do not have their own Wikipedia articles. In particular, see Wikipedia:Non-free content criteria #8. Readers do not need photographs of every person named in the article to understand the situation. (ESkog)^(Talk) 15:58, 4 April 2024 (UTC)
