AfD- Theron Pummer
I'm looking for more experienced Wikipedians to help me out with the question of whether this article is worthy or not, since I've not been around very long. As I say on the AfD page, this guy's work seems rather solid (the area he writes in is of particular interest to me), but I can see how an undergraduate's work/thoughts, no matter how worthy, might still not be notable. My question- Would you say, generally, that high-quality work in an esoteric academic area is worthy of inclusion on WP? Thanks for your help. == Your integrity ==

Ruby, I just wanted you to know that your comments on my talk page are very distasteful. You've never met me and the first words from your mouth are personal attacks. Furthermore, you say you are a Christian and you publicly rebuke me because of nothing more than a hunch and an assumption. What happened to assuming good faith? What happened to following the biblical requirement of approaching a brother in Christ in private? It seems that you don't know the first thing about Christianity. Furthermore, changing your vote from Delete to Keep based on your hunch doesn't indicate a high level of integrity or a true desire to make Wikipedia a better place. --Jason Gastrich 04:59, 22 January 2006 (UTC)

PROD again
I realize you've got your mind set in regards to this, but I'll try anyway... You (and anyone else) can certainly remove prod tags from any article, under any circumstances. People objected to Ambi deleting some articles(for various complicated reasons), not removing the prod tags. I'm sorry that you are feeling upset with the process, and if there's anything I can do to help, let me know. JesseW, the juggling janitor 06:37, 6 February 2006 (UTC)
:Ambi uncovered a basic flaw to the whole process, PROD articles are either speedy candidates or AfD candidates, with no middle ground. If they are speedy candidates, the PROD process has the negative effect of making them linger for days after they should go. If they are AfD candidates, the process has the negative effect of bypassing consensus when some articles are not forwarded to the AfD page. If they are deemed to be "non-controversial" they are effectively being speedied without complying to the WP:CSD. When that became clear I lost interest in the whole thing. Ruby 12:36, 6 February 2006 (UTC)
::That's really not how I see it. Speedy has very specific criteria, mainly because there is very little peer-review of speedy deletion: one person tags the article, another (an admin) clicks the button. Or sometimes an admin can just hit "delete" straight from RC. So it's right that speedy deletion should only happen when it is completely unambiguous. PROD allows time for others to review the article, and lots of people are actively doing that. Some get moved to speedy, some get AfDd, some get cleaned up, and most seem to get left just as they are. AfD is suffering badly from overload, which means that articles are not always given the scrutiny they should be. I see PROD as a way of increasing the level of detailed scrutiny applied to AfD without either slowing down the removal of cruft or expanding the scope of CSD (which has been resisted very strongly). What is missing, though, is a process for flagging which articles have been tagged and untagged and then not taken to AfD. But actually that will probably happen through the watchlists of the original nominators. The other thing arguably missing is a log of who has reviewed and agreed with PROD - but that would be no different from AfD! == Re: AFD Kurshiel's Scion ==

The tag was removed apparently by an anon IP; their discussion page notes that Isotope23 told them not to do that, but it didn't get put back. I agree that it looks like you aren't responsible for it not being there, but if you're going to AFD something I would think you should take responsibility for keeping up the AFD page in the face of minor vandalism and/or minor edit faux pas. You can't expect a vandal or clueless editor who didn't realize what they did to understand and fix it, and the AFD is out of spec now.

It would also help if the description was slightly more explanatory than "This is said to be using a crystal ball"...

Citizenship in the World Merit Badge
Hi! You have argued for deletion of the Citizenship in the World Merit Badge article on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Citizenship in the World Merit Badge. I've cleaned the article somewhat to give it context and grammar, so that it is no longer nonsense. Might you consider redirection instead of deletion? -- Jonel | Speak 04:02, 19 February 2006 (UTC)

NiMUD article
Thanks Ruby! Your help is greatly appreciated. Those folks are picking on me something fierce! I just want to leave it alone. There is some movement in the DikuMUD community to erase my game entirely from the history of DikuMUDs. Luckily not everyone is following those digital-fascists. == JEHOCHMAN ==
I don't appreciate the ad hominem attack you made against me on the DAP Technologies VfD page. Stick to the facts, and make your argument based on the content of the article. Jehochman 17:58, 20 February 2006 (UTC)

:I wouldn't characterize it as an ad hominem attack, I would call it full disclosure. For third parties, the text of my vote follows:
::Delete Internet marketing created by a user who says on his user page, "More about me at JE Hochman & Associates - Internet Marketing." --Ruby 03:11, 18 February 2006 (UTC)

I see another ad hominem attack on the Argox vfd page. I don't make a living writing Wikipedia articles. You have asserted something false, with no basis. Stick to the facts and you'll be more credible. Jehochman 18:05, 20 February 2006 (UTC)

For the Argox article my comment follows:

::The gentleman who created this article makes his living marketing companies on the internet, including, apparently, Wikipedia. --Ruby 04:40, 18 February 2006 (UTC)

The nature of my objection is that you voting against articles based on WHO I AM, rather than the quality and substance of the article. Please judge the articles, not the author. Thank you! Jehochman 18:27, 20 February 2006 (UTC)

I too am apparently a stalker
I recently have been accused of stalking User:Jehochman and vandalising his articles. Despite my asking, I have yet to hear any specific details from him as to what I have vandalized and how I have been stalking him. Can you shed any light on this issue? Monkeyman 19:08, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
:I dunno. Maybe when you put the AfD banner on them that was "vandalism" and maybe when you nominated a second ad in a row that was "stalking". --<font style="background: #009900" face="verdana" color="#FFFFFF"><font color="yellow"><strong>Ruby</strong></font> </font> 20:44, 20 February 2006 (UTC)

SpinnWebe article deletion
Not that it matters at this point, but in that vote you said it claims to be the personal page of someone who's a red link. Wish it was still around so I could figure out what you meant, because it's my site, and I do have a user page. --Spinn 19:13, 20 February 2006 (UTC)

Hi Ruby, Since your vote for delete on this AfD, I have since cleaned up to adhere to NPOV and provided evidence of Notability. Could you please change your vote to keep?

Thanks,

Dave

Spinnwebe
It seems that people associated with the site came back and recreated the article that had already been deleted by AFD (Spinnwebe Afd). The webmaster of the site seems to have recruited tons of people associated with that website to go to the Speedy deletions page to contest the deletion. It really is ridiculous, one person seems to have registered just to vote and there are a few blank red links voting. I know that you are very familar with the deletion process and think maybe you can help out with this problem.--Jersey Devil 20:54, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
:Hey Ruby--I think that Jersey Devil's statement here of what went on with the SpinnWebe deletion is untrue--check the contribs--and I can't accept with the premise of your AfD. But I want you to know that this is just a disagreement about some facts about some web page, and I still think you're the coolest. :) rodii 03:57, 23 February 2006 (UTC)

Check out this page on the Spinnwebe Forum "Reinstatement campaign anyone?". I knew this was what was going on, now we have the proof.check out this page on the Spinnwebe Forum "Reinstatement campaign anyone?". I knew this was what was going on, now we have the proof. As a matter of fact, in that thread Spinn says "Well, here's the Google cache version of the page, anyway. It's a shame, I could recreate all this fairly easily, but I think it's bad form if I do it myself.". So it is infact confirmed that they just c&ped back the same old page that was deleted (many sites make copies of old wikipedia pages). It wasn't 'improved' and thus the speedy deletion template was warranted--Jersey Devil 09:14, 23 February 2006 (UTC)
:But did they not improve it? Ah well, I don't want to have this debate on Ruby's page. My point is that they're worthy WP contributors, not noobs recruited to stack the voting. rodii 12:21, 23 February 2006 (UTC)

Concerned
It seems that the user User:Notmydesk as well has his web comic with a page on wikipedia titled Concerned (I have already put up Spinn's webcomic Scribs for afd). The webcomic itself is less than a year old and has no external links proving its notablity outside the links to hlcomic.com (which is basically the website to the comic itself). Do you think this should be put up on afd? I dunno, I get the feeling that the same crew of people would just come back and all vote keep. It has happened on several of the other pages with loose associations to Spinnwebe (check out the afd's for Zompist.com, Mark Rosenfelder (who is the User:Zompist), Verdurian language, and so on)--Jersey Devil 18:55, 24 February 2006 (UTC)
:An AfD for that one would result in a keep, if not a speedy keep. --<font style="background: #009900" face="verdana" color="#FFFFFF"><font color="yellow"><strong>Ruby</strong></font> </font> 19:13, 24 February 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, that is unfortunately what would likely happen. Check this out this page from their forum . Apparently anything can have a page on wikipedia so long as you have a handful of fans from a webforum to back it.--Jersey Devil 19:34, 24 February 2006 (UTC)
:If that were true I'd contest the Scribs deletion. Why have you decided Concerned should be deleted? Do you only apply an Alexa test when you like its results? Your statement here is just charged with zealotry. 15 minutes' worth of research will verify the notability of Concerned (which maybe Ruby did when you asked). --Spinn 20:43, 24 February 2006 (UTC)

AFD for Hunter Ellis, Tammy Leitner, etc.
In the general case, I agree that Survivor candidates are not notable enough for their own articles, but I think you might want to re-visit a few of these bios. Some of the contestants appear to be genuinely notable within other fields; for example, Leitner won an Emmy award for investigative journalism, and Ellis is the host of a weekly TV show on The History Channel. If you still think they should be deleted after another look, that's OK. I just want to make sure you have all the facts before you make the call. -Colin Kimbrell 01:05, 25 February 2006 (UTC)

Hunter Ellis
I've put this article up for deletion review, after re-writing a stub focused much more on his non-Survivor notability as a TV host, which was then speedy deleted as a recreation of deleted content. Since you commented on the initial AFD, I thought you might want to participate in the discussion here as well. -Colin Kimbrell 17:28, 5 March 2006 (UTC)

I've noticed that you have submitted a nice article about the Tiger Mountain. What do you think about a Hikipedia site? Would you consider contributing to it?

I know that one can add trail descriptions to a regular Wikipedia, but there are quite a few things that would be too difficult too acomplish: trail-oriented search, embedded weather forecast, voting for trail difficulty and enjoyability, trail reports, links and images of guidebooks. Please let me know what you think about Hikipedia (you can use the feedback page, or reply here). Thanks, Lukasz.
