Badr bin Abdul Mohsen Al Saud (2 April 1949 – 4 May 2024) was a Saudi prince and poet. He died on 4 May 2024, at the age of 75.[1] He was a son of Prince Abdul Muhsin bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and nephew of all Saudi kings since 1953.
Notable works
He held a poetry evening at the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture in 2023 and opened his first art exhibition in Saudi Arabia entitled "Masterpieces of Al-Badr".[2]
His poetry books "A Message from a Bedouin" (1990), "What the Sparrow Carves on the Date Palm" (1989), "Perhaps a Poem" (1996), and "A Glint" (2010) are a few of his noteworthy works.[3]
Honors and recognitions
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) honored him in 2019, on the occasion of World Poetry Day, in appreciation of his poetic, artistic and cultural contributions for more than 40 years.[4]
