The Abduction of Europa
The Abduction of Europa is a 1632 oil-on-panel painting by Rembrandt. One of his rare mythological works, it was inspired by Ovid's Metamorphoses, part of which tells the tale of Zeus's seduction and capture of Europa. The painting shows a coastal scene with Europa being carried away in rough waters by Zeus in the form of a bull while her friends remain on shore with expressions of horror. The use of an ancient myth to impart a contemporary thought and his portrayal of the scene using the High Baroque style are two strong aspects of the work. It was also influenced by Titian's painting of the same subject 70 years earlier, although there are significant differences; Rembrandt's painting is less violent in nature than Titian's. The Abduction of Europa is now in the collection of the J. Paul Getty Museum in New York City.Painting credit: Rembrandt

Thank you, helpful admin! --Dweller 11:43, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A fuller list of articles the vandal is interested in can be seen through the contribs of one of the longer lasting socks: Special:Contributions/Rufus_May_Day Susannah Hoffs? I had a HUGE crush on her 20 odd years ago, lol. --Dweller 11:59, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ooh, yeah. "Walk Like an Egyptian" was a favourite video, if not entirely convinced by the pop-rocky sound. Thanks for the pointer, I'm not sure about one of the articles they created on a "famous" rancher, might need further investigation.... Cheers! :) Bubba hotep 12:38, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
New one. Special:Contributions/Meiji_Canis --Dweller 14:56, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I missed blocking that one by a matter of minutes. My activities are a bit erratic today, sorry. :) I see they have turned their attention to the Grey Wolf now. A very strange obsession they have going there. Bubba hotep 14:59, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You're a star. --Dweller 15:07, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Shucks. Blushes Just doin' my job... my, there are a lot of other wolves out there, though. Bubba hotep 15:23, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
And I see you've caught another fishwolf in your net. --Dweller 15:38, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, one that wasn't blocked earlier, I think. Or was it a new one? Bubba hotep 15:39, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
New, I think. How long does it take before someone gets tired of not achieving anything. --Dweller 15:40, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
We'll soon find out... :) Bubba hotep 15:42, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's that guy... Grand Noble as usual!

You wrote: after your notability continues to grow, someone else will inevitably come along and write an article about you. Well therein lies the query. I know that just because somebody else writes a Wiki article about my music group, that does not mean the page will STAY up. So really, what can I do career-wise... that when the WikiMods read my new page, in a few months or whatever, that somebody ELSE wrote about me.. What needs to be on that page so they'll see it as "notable" and "keep-worthy?" If I've (1) done tons of concerts along-side large underground acts and (2) put out multiple albums... what if I (3) get reviewed/interviewed in a Hip Hop magazine or website? Will that alone make my page important? I know I probably sound like a broken record homie, and I'm sorry. But here's my reasoning: I want to know what's the smallest action I could do that would solidify my WikiPage... SO THAT I will now go out and fulfill it. You see what I mean? I feel like I can't really fix my Wikipedia situation because I don't have a goal to work towards. You have really helped a lot man. Hope you can provide some more answers for me.
