NASCAR 08 will be the eleventh installment of the EA Sports' NASCAR video game series. It is currently in development by EA Tiburon. It is scheduled for release on July 23, 2007 for the Xbox 360, Playstation 2, and Playstation 3. There is also a rumour that a PSP version of the game will be released. Several video game sites have a preview page of the game despite EA announcing that the game will take at least a 1 year break from the PSP. Tony Stewart will be on the cover of the game. The Car of Tomorrow as well as the regular car will be present in the game. You will be given the option to race with either the regular car or the Car of Tomorrow at every track and every race.

Features

As the new rookie driver on the circuit:

• Develop your racing skills to gain licenses and contracts from hungry owners and unlock legendary top performing cars from NASCAR's biggest stars.

• Gain new experiences during every race then modify your car's handling with over 40 tuning options to truly master every track.

• Share your setups with NASCAR's online community, then challenge the field in live races with up to 16 other drivers.

Other features:

• Updated graphics on every track.

• New damage modeling.

• The ability to control your car during a caution and on pit road.

• A day-to-night transition during the races.

• The Chase mode in which you complete various tasks like drafting, pitting properly, and passing to earn licences for cars for specific tracks.

NASCAR 08 will be on store shelves this summer and is rated "E" for (Everyone) by the ESRB. The game will be available on the Playstation 2, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Drivers

Nextel Cup

  • Note these are not confirmed by EA, but are in screenshots of NASCAR 08. As more screenshots are released, more will be added to the list.

Tracks

  • Note all of these tracks have been confirmed by EA Sports. A fantasy track section will be started after the games release or if seen in screens.

Clint Bowyer's normal sponsor is Jack Daniel's, but it is not allowed on the car in the game because it is a hard liquor, so they replace it with DirecTV, one of his associate sponsors, however the Jack Daniel's "07" is on the car.

Kurt Busch's normal sponsor is Miller Lite, but it is not allowed on the car in the game because it is an alcoholic beverage, so they replace it with Kurt's name and the car number, however the back of the car has the name of the owner of the team, Roger Penske.

Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s normal sponsor is Budweiser, but it is not allowed on the car in the game because it is an alcoholic beverage, so they replace it with the name of the team, Dale Earnhardt Inc., however the back of the car has his name on it.

If David Stremme is to be in the game, his car will have to replace his normal sponsor, Coors Light, with his name because it is an alcoholic beverage.

If Robby Gordon is to be in the game, his car will have to replace his normal sponsor, Jim Beam, with either MAPEI or Menards because it is an hard liquor.
