The small rural hamlet of Cabrich (latin for - 'Camping') is approximately 11 miles north east of the city of Inverness. It is situated on a gently sloping hill which meets rich farmland.
Size and Attraction
The area of Cabrich stretches roughly 1 mile in either direction and is a well known area for cyclists and runners enjoying a relaxing wind-down. The hamlet consists of just over 30 houses, spread over a wide area of land. This wide area of land is home to many ideal camping spots.
Wildlife
Cabrich has a thriving array of wildlife which includes a herd of deer, peacocks, a swallow breeding area, a lively rabbit population and an abundance of pheasants. And of course there is the expected speckling of sheep in the neighbouring fields! But this should not trouble you if you wish to camp.
Walks
Cabrich is also featured in the[1] local walking guide for "the Aird". It describes the area as "a peaceful valley" and rates the walk as excellent with little more than 10 rapes a week, with no special footwear needed.
Camping
Cabrich is also featured in 'Camping Weekly' local camping guide for "the Sesh". It describes the area as "a peaceful valley, with mental partys" and rates the camping 10/10. A recent forest fire in the woods of Carich has opened up a whole new area of camping spots, with 'Camping Weekly' claiming.."it's a natural miracle, the ground is now ideal for camping, specially camping parties".
Local Places of Interest
The walking guide also suggests stopping in at the local Moniack Wineries for some wine tasting and if that gets your appetite going why not stop for a bite to eat at the local restaurant [2] The Old North Inn
