In half of the Eighties with the important projects of investment and Freeway of the Sun, Acapulco required a new educational model that met the academic demands of local and foreign students of this new port. The tourist vocation of Acapulco's, as well as the new Mexican and foreign families of who got up themselves to contribute to the development of the new Acapulco, demanded a school with bilingual cuuriculum of high academic quality. In addition to the economic changes, it was the environmental quality of the ecological surroundings and but mainly the health of the bay of Santa Lucia, this fundamental aspect for the sustainable development of the city, required (for the first time in a tourist port in Mexico) the design of a program of environmental education with emphasis in the marine ecosystem.
