Coral Smith

Coral Jean Smith (born January 19, 1979) is a former cast member on MTV's The Real World: Back to New York. She currently participates on The Real World/Road Rules Challenge on a sporadic basis. Smith is noted for feuding with other cast members, for example with The Real World: New Orleans cast member Matt Smith on The Gauntlet in 2003, as well as The Real World: New Orleans cast member Julie Stoffer on The Inferno in 2004.

Smith won her first Real World/Road Rules Challenge, with Back to New York cast mate Mike Mizanin. She has been in five Challenges in all and has made it to the end of four. She was eliminated on Fresh Meat for injuries. Smith's last television appearance was on the Fresh Meat reunion special, in which she was strongly self-expressive, especially on the subject of race. She said she had a problem with The Real World: Austin's Danny Jamieson for having a chip on his shoulder, and his girlfriend Melinda Stolp for using the word, "colored". She issued a challenge to all the newer members which none of them accepted. A second Battle of the Sexes was created after Smith jokingly brought up the idea on the The Inferno reunion special.

Some speculation has arisen over Smith's relationship with Abram Boise from Road Rules: South Pacific during Battle of the Sexes II. Smith said: "I wouldn't expect Abram to invest his time or pursue a woman like myself that's so mouthy and such a feminist," although they broke up when he got voted off where they shared a long kiss goodbye, and during the reunion she said they remain close friends. However, according to another interview with Smith, the two were not involved in a girlfriend/boyfriend relationship and that it was only made to look that way on television to get good ratings.

On June 18, 2007 it was revealed during an interview with gay and lesbian magazine Outlook, that Smith was a lesbian and had come out. She said she felt it would be mean to come out to her parents on national television when she was on the Real World. She also mentioned she was contemplating doing another installment of Real World/Road Rules challenge.

• She is best friends with The Real World: New Orleans cast mate Melissa Howard. They both participated on Bravo's Battle of the Network Reality Stars.
• Smith claims to have attended law school
• Smith has said her favorite challenge was The Inferno because she got to send Trishelle Cannatella home.
• From her season on the Real World, she still keeps in contact with Mike, Lori and Malik. She says she doesn't get to speak with Rachel and Nicole much and never even liked Kevin Dunn, so she never kept up with him after the show.
