There's the downside of having too many "''[[WP:ILIKEIT|I Like it!]]''" votes, and users getting upset about how the closing admin didn't "count the votes" correctly... but in some cases where an article's expansion could save the image (like the current Einstein-tongue debate) , it's worth doing.
