Waxy flexibility is psychomotor symptom of catatonic schizophrenia where a posture, into which placed, is indefinitely maintained [1]. For instance, if you were to move the arm of someone with waxy flexibility, he would keep his arm where you moved it until it was moved again, as if made from wax.
