Tim Butcher, (born 1967 in London) is an English journalist and author.
He was educated at Rugby School, and Oxford University.
He is the author of Blood River - A Journey to Africa's Broken Heart, an account of Butcher's personal journey across the Congo, following the path of Henry Morton Stanley's 1870s expedition. The book was published by Random House in 2007.
Since joining the staff of The Daily Telegraph in 1990, he has served as war correspondent and Africa Bureau Chief. he is currently Middle East Correspondent, based in Jerusalem, Israel.
