Growth hormone-releasing factor (GHRH) is a peptide hormone related to glucagon, produced by the hypothalamus. It signals the anterior of the pituitary gland to produce human growth hormone It is released in a pulsatile maner, especially during deep sleep or hypoglycaemia, and growth hormone release follows this pattern. GHRH works antagonistically with Somatostatin (Growth Hormone Inhibiting Hormone). (HGH).
