Dr. Thomas Gordon (1918-2002) was an Amerikaans clinical psychologist, student and later collegue of Carl Rogers (with Abraham Maslow founder of the humanistic psychology). He was mainly know for his socalled Gordon-Method, first primarily a method en improve om relationships between parents and children, later develloped into a general communicationmethod to improve relatiinships (also professional ones).
He wrote 9 books, that were translated into 28 languages and of which more than 6 million copies were sold world wide. He introduced his Parent Effectiveness Training (PET) in 1962, a parenting course that was followed by more than a million parents in 43 countries. Dr. Gordon was nominated in 1997, 1998 and 1999 for the Nobel peace prize.
His work is being continued via Gordon Training International, of which his wife Linda Adams is president.
