...Isn't Dark Bakura the soul of Thief King Bakura taken over by a portion of Zorc's soul? That's how it was like with Akhenaden, he became part of Zorc (The Dark Priest) due to Zorc giving him a portion of his soul. Dark Bakura outright says that the Zorc Necrophades who appeared to Akhenaden is the soul of the true Akhenaden (QUOTE: "His soul is one with Zorc's! & QUOTE: "Akhenaden's soul is animating the Dark Priest, with me as the player.") Not to mention the whole "The thief's soul in my ring" bit that comes quite a while after he talks about the portion of Zorc's soul being sealed in the ring. In conclusion, Zorc's soul is working through the souls of Thief King Bakura and Akhenaden in order to be revived. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.188.25.139 (talk) 00:05, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

Just wanting to say

I edited out the "more often than not, the evidence points to Zorc" thing because in the manga, there's actually more proof that he's a composite of Zorc and Theif Bakura (Ex: Parasite Mind Bakura of the Millenium Puzzle does say he's a part of Zorc, and yet later on he talks about the Dark Bakura of the Millenium Ring and refers to him as "the thief's soul".)

I do agree with "Given how both the anime and the manga give conflicting evidence about his identity and never clearly states with 100% assurance whether the soul in the Ring is Thief King Bakura or Zorc Necrophades, it's impossible to say for certain who Dark Bakura truly is." but I think that it should be left at that rather than saying which argument seems closer to the truth, since that's just an opinion and not fact.

The anime says he's Zorc (or at least a combination of some sort). In the episode where Yami Yugi and Yami Bakura abandon their positions at the diorama table and enter the game world (I believe it was 217), Yami Yugi says something to the effect of, "Kisama... yahari, Zorc!" ("As I thought, you're Zorc!") This is then reinforced by the superimposition of the image of Zorc's face on Yami Bakura's face. -KE

In the English Anime, Yami Bakura actually says "Zorc and I are one and the same!". So, at least in the English version, Yami Bakura is Zorc. Ggctuk 12:25, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Just found this here:

http://www.yu-jyo.net/005/217.html - Episode 217 English/Japanese comparison

Bakura says he doesn't need this body any more. He'll return to his original form. Now doesn't that say something when he combines with Zorc? Ggctuk 11:21, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speaking of Zorc: think it's worth mentioning that in the manga, the boss in Monster World is named Lord Zorc (at least in the English translation)?

Combine that with the fact that Yugi and Bakura's first battle is an RPG and final battle is an RPG... Ggctuk 14:28, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Can Zorc Necrophades stop leading here? Ggctuk 13:09, 5 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It should go here--Tempest115 00:08, 6 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Name Dispute?

Isn't his name technically Ryou Bakura and not Ryo Bakura? Since Ryo is actually spelled in the Shounen Jump manga for the purpose that the readers don't pronouce his name "reeyoo". I've mostly seen it spelled Ryou and not Ryo, but I do know for a fact that in the Shounen Jump manga his name is spelled Ryo. Am I wrong?

It seems to be the same in Fruits Basket's character Sohma(sp?) Kyou, in the translation his name is spelled Kyo, but his name is really Kyou.

We use the official Viz translation of the name and nothing else. Geg 15:32, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
"Characters should be called what the series officially states their romaji names as. If that does not exist, use what they are named in the most recent or popular English translation, if it exists, isn't egregiously bad, and is the generally-used name (a google test is appropriate here). Otherwise, use a literal transliteration." (from Wikipedia:WikiProject_Anime_and_manga) The series (as in the japanese) stats his romaji as Ryou doesn't it? And isn't Ryou also the generally-used name?
What does the anime say? Sometimes there are scenes in the anime where the characters name is spelt out, does the english sub of the YGO anime use either of his names? Or does it just stick to bakura and bakura only? --`/aksha 07:15, 9 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Zorc

should zorc be merged into this page because zorcs just in the other Character page and in the english dub yami bakura and zorc are the same (i'm not for one second saying dubs cannon though) ♥Eternal Pink-Ready to fight for love and grace♥ 19:25, 12 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The short answer is because they are, correct me if I'm wrong, completely different characters in the manga.--Tempest115 03:50, 13 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

oh I have not got that far yet ♥Eternal Pink-Ready to fight for love and grace♥ 09:36, 13 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about that, but then again, I could be wrong.--Tempest115 20:41, 13 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
don't worry about it im only up to where jonouchi and kiba duel in duelist and i doubt i can avoid spoolers for that long :P ♥Eternal Pink-Ready to fight for love and grace♥ 15:33, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I want to popint out that the entire Thief Bakura article is gone and now redirects here. Why? There's no Thief Bakura material in this article, and Thief Bakura and Ryou Bakura are not the same character. Ggctuk 09:12, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

mabye there wasnt enough info on thief bakura ♥Eternal Pink-Ready to fight for love and grace♥ 15:17, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There was. There was just slightly under the amount of info that was in the Ahkenaden article. Ggctuk 11:08, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sadistic

Is Dark Bakura a sadist? ♥Fighting for charming Love♥ 17:26, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

He does seem to be.--Tempest115 13:44, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Puzzle/Ring

Changed "Puzzle" to "Ring" as Bakura does not carry the Millenium Puzzle, but the Ring.

Should the theif king bakura pic be deleted?

It will be on the 28th. Should it be deleted. My answer is no because he is a different character then plan bakura. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.63.188.23 (talk) 09:51, August 24, 2007 (UTC)
