Bendigo South West Secondary College will be one of two new colleges built in line with the new Bendigo Education Plan. It will be built to replace the current buildings on the current Flora Hill Secondary College site.
As Golden Square Secondary College is closing fully, during the building works, both the Flora Hill and Golden Square sites will be used. This will cease for the full opening in 2010 on the current Flora Hill Site.
For the 2008 school year, an acting principal will be chosen and a permanent principal will be chosen to begin in 2009.
A new uniform will be phased in over two years, 2008\2009 and the new uniform will be worn as of 2010. (2008\2009, children will continue to wear old school's uniform.)
