Bewar is a town and a nagar panchayat in Mainpuri district in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India.

Geography

Bewar is located at 25°45′N 79°56′E / 25.75°N 79.93°E / 25.75; 79.93.[1] It has an average elevation of 127 metres (416 feet).

Demographics

As of 2001 India census,[2] Bewar had a population of 21,058. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Bewar has an average literacy rate of 66%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 57% of the males and 43% of females literate. 16% of the population is under 6 years of age.
