Plasmodium vastator is a parasite of the genus Plasmodium subgenus Asiamoeba.
Like all Plasmodium species P. vastator has both vertebrate and insect hosts. The vertebrate hosts for this parasite are reptiles.

Description
The parasite was first described by Telford in 1995. [1]
The schizonts give rise to 4 - 8 merozoites.
The gametocytes are elongated.
Geographical occurrence
This species occurs in the Republic of the Philippines
Clinical features and host pathology
This species infects the agamid lizard Draco volans.
